Peter Koch has been a successful general business consultant since 1968. Prior to that, he was District Sales Manager for a heavy construction and mining equipment manufacturer. Later he became General Manager of a small metal forming company which was bought out by a NYSE conglomerate.
In 1968 he founded Koch International Inc (a general business/industrial marketing, national and international consulting firm). The initial consulting emphasis was to provide services to smaller and medium size firms. As clients grew along with the firm, it became apparent; there should and could not be any client size limitations. As a result, clients ranged from Mom-and-Pop businesses to “Fortune 500” companies with a resultant variety of assignments from basic survival to multi-million dollar acquisitions and all the problems in-between.
In 1972 he founded Occusafe Inc. (an occupational safety and health consulting firm). While his expertise was not applied directly to very technical client assignments, his general business and management skills supplemented the Certified Safety Professional’s (CSP) and Certified Industrial Hygienist’s (CIH) on staff. Within 10 years, Occusafe Inc. became the largest Industrial Hygiene consulting firm in the country.
As CEO of both firms, he was responsible for over 83 professional consultants, along with support staff, and the success of both companies’ client assignments. He was continually and actively involved in Koch International client projects.
Mr. Koch holds a BSME in mechanical engineering, from the University of Illinois. He also has an MBA in marketing/finance from Northwestern University
